The Astrological Virtues and Influences of the Seven Planets in Sanai's Hadiqat al-Haqiqah

In Section 15 of Hadiqat al-Haqiqah, Sanai describes the seven planets (Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, Venus, Mercury, and the Moon) as agents that bestow specific intellectual, moral, and physical qualities upon human nature. According to this astrological scheme, Saturn imparts memory and dignity; Jupiter grants justice and fidelity; Mars gives courage and victory; the Sun provides beauty and majesty; Venus influences joy and refinement; Mercury governs speech and science; and the Moon determines speed and growth.
