The Concept of Joy in the Beloved's Awareness of Suffering in Mosibat Nameh

In Attar's Mosibat Nameh, the dialogue between Majnun and his father illustrates the Sufi concept of finding joy in suffering due to the Beloved's awareness of the lover's devotion. When his father reproaches him for his public disgrace and wandering, Majnun expresses that because the Beloved knows his pain is borne for Him, he smiles and accepts the suffering. This highlights how the recognition of the lover's devotion by the Beloved transforms worldly hardship and social shame into spiritual sweetness and joy.
