Considering the high societal demand for a COVID-19 vaccine, there is a great likelihood that the expectations of the patients' need for an effective treatment will increase; this will have a dramatic psychological effect on the patient's response to trial vaccines. Psychologically speaking, a greater societal demand for a treatment for COVID-19, which increases the expectations of the patient, leads to a great likelihood for a high placebo response rate.
