The Discrepancy Between External Beauty and Character in Sanai's Hadiqat

In Section 8 of the Hadiqat al-Haqiqah, Sanai discusses the tension between physical beauty and bad character. He argues that outward beauty without inward virtue is deceptive and worthless, using metaphors like a 'painted pumpkin' (کدوی رنگین) to describe a beautiful person lacking faith or principles. Sanai asserts that reason does not value external beauty when it is accompanied by an ill nature.
