The Experiment's Strict Grading Criteria

The initial two judges interpreted each rule literally (“strictly”). For example, if the rule stated that no more than two lines should be included in a single bullet point, then a bullet point that had two lines and a single word in a third line would be classified as violating the rule. This was done to ensure that the rules could be easily interpreted. This strict grading was used so that the principles were followed exactly, and that they would be no subjectivity.
