همه دل در هوای خویش بستند
قدم خود از هوابر می نگیرند 
که گامی بی ریا برمی نگیرند
چو هست این دور دور نفس امروز 
نمی بینم دلی بر نفس پیروز
گر از بهر هوای خویش من نیز 
کنم از سحر حاصل اندکی چیز
چو در آخر بود توبه ازانم 
ندارد ای پدر چندین زیانم

The son said to him, 'Every creature that exists
Has tied their entire heart to their own desires.
They do not lift their steps above desire,
For they do not take a single step without hypocrisy.
Since this age is the age of the carnal soul today,
I do not see a heart victorious over the carnal soul.
If I, too, for the sake of my own desires,
Acquire a little something from magic,
Since in the end I will repent of it,
It does not hold so much harm for me, O father.'
