The Four Components of Medicare Coverage
Part A is titled hospital insurance and covers care received in hospitals, nursing facilities, hospice as well as home health care. Part B is general medical insurance and it covers services from physicians and additional providers, outpatient care, home health care, preventative services such as vaccines and yearly physicals, as well as durable medical equipment such as wheelchairs or hospital beds. Part D includes drug coverage and covers the expense of prescription drugs and vaccines. Part C is known as Medicare Advantage, and is a separate plan than original Medicare.
