The Human Visible Spectrum

For humans, the visible spectrum is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that human eyes can see, typically associated with wavelengths from about 380{}380 to 740{}740 nanometers (nm). Within this spectrum, each color corresponds to a specific frequency and wavelength; the lowest frequency appears red, while the highest frequency appears violet. When the retina receives a mixture of many different frequencies of visible light, we perceive it as white light.
