The Metaphor of Abu Bakr as a Pure Mirror in Jami's Haft Awrang

In Section 71 of Jami's Haft Awrang, the poet explains the Sufi concept of spiritual death (fana) and self-extinction through the figure of Abu Bakr, referencing the Hadith of a 'dead man walking on the earth.' Jami asserts that through this spiritual death, Abu Bakr became a perfectly polished mirror (آیینه تمام صفا). Consequently, any criticism or accusation of hypocrisy (نفاق) leveled against him by his detractors is actually a reflection of their own inner hypocrisy and spiritual ugliness, as a mirror only reflects the face of the one looking into it.
