In Section 80 of the Haft Awrang, Jami provides a profound mystical commentary on the verse of the Trust (Quran 33:72):

• The Divine Trust (Amānah): This represents the unique spiritual capacity and direct realization of the Divine Essence. While the rest of creation declined to bear this heavy burden, only humanity accepted it.
• Mystical Injustice (Zulm): Jami interprets man's description as zalūm (very unjust) mystically as the practice of self-annihilation (fanā). To be unjust here means to 'wrong' one's own ego and metaphorical existence, rendering it completely non-existent in the absolute Reality of God.
• Mystical Ignorance (Jahl): Man is described as jahūl (very ignorant) because, in his absolute absorption in God, he remains completely unaware of and indifferent to anything other than the Divine.
