Jami presents the Muhammadan Reality as the first determination within creation and the spiritual origin of all contingent existence. Images of the first movement, the opening letter, and the upright alif associated with Ahmad express the Prophet's precedence in rank and spiritual being before Adam's bodily creation. The poem thus distinguishes God's eternal, necessary reality from the created yet primordial Muhammadan Reality through which the order of the cosmos unfolds.
