The Profit Function Graph

The profit function graph illustrates the total profit a firm can achieve for any given quantity of output. It is based on the assumption that for each quantity produced, the firm sets the highest possible price that the market will bear, as determined by the demand curve. The peak of this function's curve indicates the quantity that yields the maximum possible profit.
