In Section 74 of Jami's Silsilat al-Dhahab (part of Haft Awrang), Jami addresses a fundamental epistemological and ontological error of humanity: the belief that humans are created for their own sake. He explains that individuals mistakenly judge events as good or perfect, or bad and deficient, solely based on their personal benefit or state of mind. Jami refutes this self-centered view, asserting that humans were created for God to serve as a locus for the manifestation of Divine names and attributes (Asma wa Sifat). True human perfection is not self-defined but lies in conforming to the Divine will and realizing one's role as a mirror of God's names, as humanity's existence serves a purpose higher than itself.
