English translation

Man is always under the belief That perhaps he was created for himself. Whatever happens to be agreeable to his state, He considers it of the nature of goodness and perfection. And whatever he perceives as contrary to that, He regards it as of the category of deficiency. But this belief is pure error, Because he was created for God. For whatever purpose the Truth created him, There is no possibility of any addition to it for him. In truth, his perfection is that Which is the intent of the Lord from his existence. The Truth does not desire from the existence of things Except the manifestation of attributes or names. Whatever is visible in the arena of the world Is the target of the decree of one of the Names. If, hypothetically, his existence were not to be, How could the decree of that Name be manifested? And therefore the Prophet addressed Before this his circle of companions, He said: 'If no action comes from you In which there is any blemish of sin, God would create errant people, From whom sin and error would proceed, So that they might seek forgiveness for their sin, And make manifest the decree of the All-Forgiving.'
