بخش ۴۵ - بیان فرمودن پاشاه که مقصود از این امر اتیان بفعل مأمور به بود بلکه غرض آن بود که آنچه در سرشت شماست از انقیاد و عناد ظاهر شود / Section 45 - The King States That the Purpose of This Command Was Not the Performance of the Commanded Act, but Rather the Intent Was That What Is in Your Nature of Submission and Obstinacy Becomes Manifest

Original content

English translation

When that denial and obstinacy went beyond limits, The king said, 'May God grant you patience!

How much of this useless chatter? May the tongue not be soiled by it!

My command is for the sake of testing you; I have no desire for your blood.

I wanted that in this space of existence, My known secret should become manifest.

What I have known, whether beauty or blemish, I might see it from you with my own eyes.

Whatever is concealed within each of you, Is perpetually known to me.

So that everything may pass from potentiality to actuality, For that reason, command and prohibition are necessary.

When does the command necessitate existence, For actions to be in this abode?

The commanded servant thereby limitlessly abandons The performance of what he is commanded to do.'
