دولت شاه جان فرخنده ست
که جهان زان چو تن به جان زنده ست
باد آن جان همیشه پاینده
زان جهان و جهانیان زنده
English translation
When the Truth, following 'Obey Allah', / showed us the way to 'Obey the Messenger', He uttered no other word on the tablet of explanation, / except 'and those in authority among you' after that. Since 'those in authority' became the adornment, / the religious law and faith are neighbors with the Prophet. Rather, they are the extended shadow of the Truth, / and in that shadow a whole world is content. For the people, the justice of the religion-nurturing king / is the shadow of God's grace upon their heads. Especially this sovereign of exalted judgment, / whose foot rests on the head of the highest ones. The crown-bearers of the throne of majesty / are all the shadows of Allah on earth. But the perfectly matching shadow / is none other than the favored, just king. The jewel of the crown of exaltation, / the qibla of the fortunate ones, Abu'l-Ghazi. King Sultan Husayn, he whose justice / bound the hands of fate from transgression. God the Exalted, from the abundance of grace and beauty, / to manifest greatness and majesty, Made a mirror and polished it; / purity and loftiness were reflected in it. Intellect saw in it by the light of eternity, / sovereignty paired with beauty and noble traits. Gave him a name from these two wondrous names, / embedding in it mysteries, letter by letter. Upon the teeth of his 'Sin', the description is struck: / 'The honor of the palace of fortune and nobility.' The curl of his 'Lam', like the bent tress of beauties, / is a pennant upon the banner of victory. 'Ta', which is a letter from the king's bounty ('Ata), / Hatim tied a portion of generosity from it. Since time gave him the title of Ta'i, / it became certain that it was for this reason. Hidden within these three letters is / the essence of the ninety-nine names (of God). His 'Alif' is straightness, higher than the 'Nun', / it is the arrow of conquest on the bow of victory. The bud of his 'Ha' is the essence of eight heavens, / his 'Sin' gives a sign of the branch of the Lote Tree. His 'Ya' is ten, and the glorious Sharia and Throne / have appeared from its permutations. His 'Nun' is by nature a semicircle, / its precedence over these seven spheres. Beneath these nine enamel-colored porticos, / when this auspicious name is spoken, From each one comes as an echo: / 'May Allah perpetuate his kingdom forever!' The wheel of heaven is seeking his pleasure in his service; / it is a prayer-sayer at the door of his fortune. So that it may become worthy of his pleasure, / it revolves around his palace of fortune. Although his army is vast, / like the fixed stars and the planets, His eye of hope is not upon his army, / he has no place of hope except the door of Truth. Whether they are subjects or his army, / all are at peace in his refuge. Since his name has risen through justice and generosity, / I expect that in these very days, He will seize the whole world, from the blessing of an auspicious fortune, / like the Promised Mahdi. In such a way that from the darkness of oppression and error, / the expanse of time was filled, The light of his justice from the horizon of beneficence / will reach all horizons equally. The falcon and the partridge will become playmates, / the wolf and the deer will become companions. If the mountain goat's foot steps onto a stone, / it will expect a helping hand from the leopard. The fierce lion will cease its mischief and tumult, / it will scratch the back and neck of the onager with its paw. The owl will find access to the union with day, / the bat will become a sun-worshipper. The various forms of discord / will be rolled up from this multicolored carpet. All opposites will become harmonious, / they will become helpers and friends to one another. Oppression will pack its bags from this workshop, / affairs will become hard for the people of oppression. Since the word 'silver' (Sim) in writing / is like 'oppression' (Sitam) to the people of the pen, His generosity will eradicate silver, / he will empty the treasures of it. He will fill the stomach of greed and the stomach of desires / with the morsels of bounty. The deserving one, without having endured the humiliation of greed, / the hunger of his avarice will reach the limit of satiety. The beggar will rest from searching; / his daily bread will come to him without asking. In short, the splendor of the king's fortune / will make affairs according to his heart's desire. The fortune of the king is a blessed soul, / for the world is alive by it, like a body by a soul. May that soul be eternal always, / that the world and its inhabitants may live by it.
