Section 1 - Allah, Glorified be He, is the Beneficent, the Loving

Original content

English translation

Praise be to Allah before any speech By the attributes of Majesty and Honor His praise is the crown on the head of speech It is the heading of every letter, new and old When the pen adorns the crown of the letter His name befits the pearl of the crown Allah, Allah, what a wondrous name this is It is the invocation of the heart, the perfect amulet of the soul This name consists of five very remarkable letters A talisman before the hidden treasure of the Essence These five are like a hand from the Hand of Allah Weighing the jewels of that precious treasure Tell the demon who hastens to harm you One cannot twist him except with these five fingers Behind these auspicious letters A hundred thousand attributes of perfection are manifested The pen, like the pupil of the eye Has worn a musk-colored garment Beneath the musky veil of each single letter Sleep the houris with restrained glances Its two Alifs are in truth two witnesses Illuminating the path to the secret of Oneness One, through its Fatha, has opened the door of conquests In the refreshing sight of the spirit And the other, through its stillness, has given tranquility To the heart and soul in the sanctuary of steadfastness From its two Lams, they have taken strength and sustenance From one the dominion (Mulk), from the other the angelic realm (Malakut) Consider the silent Lam an allusion to the dominion And consider the other an expression of the other The dominion in itself was static Movement within it, by itself, is impossible A movement that casts a shadow upon it Its Malakut provides the substance for it The shape of their Tashdid, which is comb-like May Allah exalt His status, how pleasant it is When one of those two Lams was assimilated Into the other, like two intertwined locks of hair Upon the head of that three-toothed comb It combs both of them together The Ha, which indicates the identity of the Essence Successive movements occur upon it Movement, like stillness, flows upon it And it, in its own essence, is devoid of all It is never stripped of all Yet it is not bound by any one This letter flows in all moments Upon the breaths of all living creatures All are remembering Him with this breath Whether they are absent from Him or present The name of the Essence was initially this very 'Ha' The Lam of definition and specification was added When the Fatha of the Lam was saturated With an Alif, the letters of the name became complete What is the reason for the specification? Meaning The two worlds belong exclusively to Him, and He is the Master The secret of the definition is that you hasten So that you may attain the perfection of recognition The explanation of the saturation of the Fatha is that constantly The absolute conquest was inserted into this name Rarely does anyone reach their desire through the tongue And if they do, it is through this auspicious name Whoever is blessed by this name This alone is a sufficient portion for them Do not ask the explanation of this from demonic people Ask from 'Say Allah, then leave them' It is enough for the possessor of meaning 'Allah is sufficient for me' is the witness to this claim
