خواجه پاک دین پاک نفس
روح الله روحه الاقدس

گفت عارف که در وفا فرد است
کار خود بر نفس بنا کرده ست

هیچگه پیش و پس نمی نگرد
نقد خود جز نفس نمی شمرد

ما مضی مات و المؤمل غیب
نیست جز نقد وقتش اندر جیب

می کند از سر شعور و وقوف
هر نفس را به حق آن مصروف

شده امروز و دی و فردایش
نقطه خاک گشته مأموایش

شغل حالش سترده است از دل
ذکر ماضی و فکر مستقبل

خارج از اختلاف روز و شب است
وقت را گاه ابن و گاه آب است

این وقت است اگر تصرف حال
باشد او را محول احوال

ورز قید تصرفش بدر است
وقت فرزند اوست او پدر است

نیست او ابن وقت ابوالوقت است
وقتش ایمن ز وصمت و مقت است

وقت ها را به قدرت مولا
می کند صرف افضل و اولی

English translation

The Khwaja of pure religion and pure breath, May Allah sanctify his most holy spirit, Said: The gnostic who is unique in fidelity, Has built his affairs upon the breath. He never looks forward or backward, He counts his cash as nothing but the breath. What is past is dead, and the hoped-for is unseen, There is nothing but the cash of his time in his pocket. He acts from awareness and comprehension, Spending every breath on its rightful due. His today, yesterday, and tomorrow have become Like a speck of dust that is his dwelling place. His occupation with the present state has erased from his heart The remembrance of the past and the thought of the future. He is outside the succession of day and night, For time, he is sometimes the son and sometimes the father. He is the son of the moment, if the disposition of the state Is the transformer of his circumstances. And if he is out of the bond of its disposition, Time is his child, and he is the father. He is not the son of time, he is the father of time (Abu al-Waqt), His time is safe from flaw and divine wrath. The moments, by the power of the Lord, He spends on what is best and most worthy.
