Section 15 - Cutting Short Prolixity and Concluding with an Answered Prayer

Original content

English translation

Jami, prolixity in speech is not fitting; cut the story short, for it is time for prayer. Not a prayer that is merely poetic, and distant from the path of sincerity. Do you ask from God the Exalted things that are impossible in the judgment of reason? Or is it out of carnal desire, confined to fleeting worldly ornaments? Rather, let it be a prayer coupled with sincerity and purity, encompassing the welfare of both worlds: Both the rank and dignity of this world, and the honor and fortune of the Hereafter. Lay your head on the ground of helplessness and need, saying, O God, by Your grace, perfect his affairs! Establish justice in his heart in such a way, that he utters no word outside of justice. Make the religious law the leader of his rule; make his rule revolve around the religious law. Whatever falls outside of justice and the religious law, grant him no rest or tranquility therein. As long as survival is possible in the world, preserve him as king and the emblem of kingship. Make his dominion in this house of hope the seed of eternal felicity. The fortunate one who is a guide to goodness, and who is himself peerless in the age; May the refuge of the world be under his protection, By the Prophet and his glorious family.
