The Seeker's Dialogue with the Sun in the Mosibat Nameh

In the Thirteenth Discourse of Farid al-Din Attar's Mosibat Nameh, the spiritual seeker (Salek) addresses the Sun (Aftab) as the world-traversing sovereign that warms creation and teaches love to the universe's particles. The Sun, however, describes its own burning agony, restlessness, and pale complexion, showing that even the grandest cosmic lights suffer from separation and are subservient to the Divine.
