The Subjugation of False Hope by Sincerity in the Father's Answer

In this section of Attar's Elahi Nameh, the father addresses his son's pursuit of the Water of Life (eternal life). He identifies this desire as being driven by false hope (امل, amal). To counter this, the father teaches that a genuine spiritual seeker must subjugate such worldly aspirations using the light of sincerity (صق, sidq), emphasizing that sincere devotion is paramount to the illusion of immortality.
