Protein chains will begin to assemble in the virus-cell walls. The virus will start to bud from the cell wall, its genome will be enclosed in a capsid. This new virus will push out of the CD4 cell and begin to mature.

Assembly and Budding

Once the cell receives a signal to activate, it will begin to produce HIV RNA. When this cell is activated, it will use the host enzyme RNA polymerase to make mRNA. The mRNA will host instructions to make new viral proteins.

Once HIV has been converted into DNA, the HIV integrase enzyme can attach itself to the end of the DNA strands and pass through the cell nucleus wall. This will bind to the host cell DNA.
