Concept

What is a CT (computed tomography) scan?

A generated image created by X-Ray machines and computers to generate images of the body/head. CT scans are able to show tissues, bones, and blood vessels more effectively than a regular X-Ray. CT scans are usually used to visualize the spine, abdomen, knee, chest, heart, shoulders and head. CT scans are used in medical facilities to diagnoses diseases and injuries (they can be effective at finding damaged/altered parts of the brain as well).
