What is considered an accessible and usable accommodation for multi-family dwellings
The Fair Housing Act outlines that for multi family dwellings, accommodations include making the public and shared spaces usable for people with disabilities, door passageways are wide enough for wheelchairs to fit through, and all units within the dwelling must contain the following elements: accessible routes into and throughout the facility, controls in accessible areas, construction that would allow the installation of grab bars, a useable kitchen and bathroom that would allow a person in a wheelchair to use the space. 42 U.S.C. § 3604 (f)(3)(C)
