Example

Technology A Dominates Technology C

Technology A is an example of a dominant technology because it uses fewer inputs than Technology C to produce the same output. To make 100 meters of cloth, Technology A requires 1 worker and 6 tons of coal, while Technology C needs 3 workers and 7 tons of coal. Since Technology A uses less of both labor and energy, it dominates C. Therefore, assuming inputs have a cost, a firm would not choose the inferior Technology C when A is an available option.
