Short Answer

Analyzing Consumer Choice

Imagine a consumer's choice between two goods is represented on a graph. Their budget is shown by a straight, downward-sloping line. Their preferences are shown by a series of indifference curves, which are convex to the origin. Point A and Point B both lie on the consumer's budget line. However, Point A is on a lower indifference curve than Point B. Explain why a rational consumer would choose bundle B over bundle A.
