Analyzing System Dynamics

A lake ecosystem can sustain a small, stable fish population with limited food resources. It can also sustain a large, thriving fish population if a certain density is reached, which allows for more successful breeding and protection from predators. However, there is a specific, intermediate population level that is highly precarious. If the population falls slightly below this level, it quickly collapses to the low-population state. If it rises slightly above this level, it rapidly grows towards the high-population state. Based on this description, explain why this intermediate population level is considered a tipping point.
