Augmented Matrix for a System of Equations

An augmented matrix is a structured format used to compactly represent a system of linear equations. To construct it, every equation must initially be written in standard form. The coefficients of the variables are arranged in columns on the left side of the matrix, while the constants from the equations form the final column on the right. A vertical line is drawn between the coefficients and the constants to serve as a replacement for the equal signs in the original equations.
