Binomial

A binomial is a specific type of polynomial that contains exactly two terms. Because it is built from exactly two monomials joined by addition or subtraction, it receives this special name to distinguish it from polynomials with a different number of terms. Examples of binomials include a+7ba + 7b, 4x2y24x^2 - y^2, y216y^2 - 16, and 3p3q9p2q3p^3q - 9p^2q.
