Book Three - Section 60 - The Children Casting Delusion Upon the Master

Original content

English translation

Day came, and those children came, with this same thought, from home to the school. They all stood outside, waiting until that determined friend should enter first. For he was the source of this plan; the head always comes as leader before the foot. O imitator, do not seek precedence over one who is a source from the light of heaven. He came in and greeted the master: “May all be well; the color of your face is pale.” The master said, “There is no illness in me. Go, sit down; do not talk nonsense, now.” He denied it, but the dust of evil imagination suddenly struck a little into his heart. Another came in and said the same; by this, that imagination increased a little. So it went, until his imagination gained strength; he remained greatly bewildered about his own condition.
