Calculating the Limit of Coercive Power

A landowner can force a worker to produce 10 bushels of grain. To be able to work again tomorrow, the worker requires a minimum of 2.5 bushels of grain for biological survival. The landowner wants to take as much grain as possible without jeopardizing future production from this worker. What is the maximum number of bushels the landowner can take, and briefly explain the principle that prevents him from taking more?
