Compound Inequalities with All Real Numbers Solution

When solving a compound inequality connected by the word "or", the final solution is the union of the solutions to the individual inequalities. In certain cases, graphing the two individual solutions results in shaded regions that completely cover the number line. Because every possible number satisfies at least one of the inequalities, the solution set encompasses all real numbers. In interval notation, this comprehensive solution is written as (,)(-\infty, \infty).
