Conditions for Non-Experimental Research

Non-experimental research is the appropriate and often necessary choice when specific characteristics of a research question prevent the use of an experiment. These situations typically occur when the research focuses on describing a single variable, examines non-causal statistical associations, explores broad and subjective experiences, or investigates potential causal links where manipulating the independent variable is practically or ethically impossible.
