Contradictory Slant

A technique that relates to the false visualization of information. Essentially, it entails cutting down an axis to change the visual difference presented in a graph.

Truncated Axis

This is also a technique that relates to the false visualization of information. For example, the y-axis can be inverted which may lead to misinterpretation of the graph.

Inverted Axis

The title of a graphical visualization presents one side of a topic, but the graphic visualization shows both.

Selective Slant

The graphic visualization emphasizes an aspect of a story visually, even though the title addresses the other aspect. For example, the information presented in the title may be visually more faint on the graphical visualization.
