Converging Operations

Converging operations refer to the research strategy of using multiple, distinct operational definitions to measure the same psychological construct, either within a single study or across multiple studies. When scores from various measures—such as self-report, behavioral, and physiological assessments—correlate with one another and produce similar patterns of results, this constitutes strong evidence that the underlying construct is being effectively measured.
