Definition of Predictive Validity

Predictive validity is a form of external validity that evaluates how well the results and behaviors observed in an experimental setting can be used to predict outcomes in other, real-world situations. In economic experiments, high predictive validity means that the choices made by participants in the lab are a reliable indicator of how people will behave in naturally occurring economic environments.
