Definition of the Wage-Price Spiral

A wage-price spiral is a cyclical process in which an initial increase in wages leads to a subsequent increase in the price level. This price rise then prompts further demands for higher wages, continuing the cycle. The process can also be initiated by an initial increase in prices.
