Demographic Differences in Exposure to Traumatic Events
The frequency and type of exposure to traumatic events are not uniform across all demographic groups. Research indicates that factors such as gender, race, and socioeconomic status influence the likelihood of experiencing trauma. For example, men, non-White individuals, and those in lower socioeconomic status (SES) groups tend to report a higher number of traumatic experiences.
