Dependence of Optimal Work Hours on Rent with Non-Quasi-Linear Preferences

For individuals with non-quasi-linear preferences, their optimal choice of work hours can be affected by a fixed rent payment. Unlike the quasi-linear case, a change in consumption level due to rent could alter their Marginal Rate of Substitution (MRS), potentially making them more inclined to trade free time for additional consumption. As a result, the number of hours they choose to work as a tenant would differ from what they would choose as an independent farmer.
