Evaluating Persuasive Strategies in a Dilemma

In the final round of a game show, two contestants must secretly choose to either 'Split' a cash prize or 'Steal' the entire amount. If both choose 'Split', they share the prize. If one chooses 'Steal' and the other 'Split', the 'Steal' player gets everything. If both choose 'Steal', neither gets anything. Before their final decision, they can talk to each other.

Consider two different communication approaches a contestant could take:

Strategy A (The Emotional Appeal): "Look me in the eye. I give you my word I am going to Split. I came here to win some money, not to be greedy. Let's both walk away with something. Please, trust me and Split with me."

Strategy B (The Rational Appeal): "Let's think about this logically. If you choose Steal, you risk getting nothing. If you choose Split, you are guaranteed to get at least something, unless I steal. I am telling you I will choose Split, so your best move is to also choose Split to ensure we both win."

Evaluate which of these two strategies is more likely to be effective in persuading the other contestant to cooperate by choosing 'Split'. Justify your answer by analyzing the credibility and psychological impact of each approach.
