Example of Loss of Interest in Major Depressive Disorder

An illustration of the loss of interest (anhedonia) seen in major depressive disorder is when an individual abandons hobbies they were once passionate about. For example, a person who was an avid tennis player might completely stop playing or showing any interest in the sport after developing the disorder.
