Social Discrimination in Major Depressive Disorder

A significant social consequence of major depressive disorder is discrimination. The majority of individuals with the disorder report experiencing such treatment, which in turn creates barriers to forming close relationships and pursuing opportunities in employment and education for which they are qualified.
