Examples of Anterograde Amnesia in H.M.
Due to anterograde amnesia, Henry Molaison (H.M.) could not form new episodic memories following his surgery. As a practical example of this impairment, he would repeatedly read the same magazine because he had no memory of having read it before, making it seem entirely new each time. Additionally, he was unable to remember new individuals; if a person he had just met left the room for only a few minutes, he would not recognize them upon their return and would introduce himself again.
