Short Answer

Explaining Cooperative Behavior

A simple model of a two-player interaction predicts that both players, acting in their own individual interest, will choose a strategy that leads to a worse outcome for both of them than if they had coordinated on a different strategy. However, in real-life experiments and observations of similar situations, people often manage to achieve the better, coordinated outcome. Briefly explain the primary reason for this discrepancy between the model's prediction and observed human behavior.
