Household Production Process

Households function as production units, similar to firms, by combining inputs to create outputs. These inputs include the labor of parents and caregivers, physical structures like the home, and equipment such as domestic appliances. The resulting outputs are not only goods and services, which are often for internal consumption rather than market sale, but also the development of people who will form the future labor force for both firms and new households.
