How CREST works
In Cognitive Remediation and Emotion Skills Training, therapists review educational material and conduct collaborative cognitive activities that encourage skills development, including identifying and managing emotions and emotion processing skills. Therapists ask patients about emotions they feel and associate with AN. Patients are asked discussion-based questions in group settings and encouraged patients to implement small but significant behavioral changes. Therapists then ask how these changes affected their overall well-being. Different modules of CREST address different ideas surrounding emotion. This includes learning about the function of emotions, identifying different emotions, and communicating and expressing emotions.
