Identifying Place Values of Digits in a Whole Number

To find the place value of a specific digit in a whole number, place the number in a place value chart and locate the column each digit occupies. For example, in 63,407,21863{,}407{,}218: the digit 77 is in the thousands place, 00 is in the ten-thousands place, 11 is in the tens place, 66 is in the ten-millions place, and 33 is in the millions place.
