Inflation Synchronization under a Fixed Exchange Rate

Consider a small country that maintains a rigidly fixed exchange rate with a large economic partner. If the small country's domestic prices begin to rise much faster than prices in the partner country, explain the economic mechanism that would automatically push its inflation rate back towards the partner's rate.
