Karim's Dilemma in the Work-Leisure Choice

An individual like Karim naturally desires to maximize both their consumption and their free time. However, their choices are constrained by the reality of their wage, limiting them to what is achievable. This creates a fundamental dilemma: since consumption is funded by working, any increase in free time must come at the expense of potential consumption. Therefore, free time has a direct opportunity cost, which is the value of the consumption that must be forgone to obtain it.
