Mitigating Misinformation Through 1Cademy's Acceptance Threshold
In 1Cademy, the acceptance threshold mitigates misinformation by requiring greater community consensus for changes to highly visible, popular nodes. Proposals on nodes with net votes (upvotes minus downvotes) are implemented immediately. However, proposals on popular nodes remain pending until they receive at least half of the target node's net votes. This popularity-dependent mechanism prevents users from easily altering established content, protecting hot topics from misinformation while allowing rapid knowledge generation on newer nodes.
